Each Thursday night, Fareways or the Massanutten Conference Center provides the backdrop for the Virginia Winemaker's Dinner.
Executive Chef Michael Ritenour provides an elegant five-course menu which is sent to a participating Virginia vineyard for custom pairings to create an exceptional dining experience.
The Winemaker's Dinner begins with an introduction of the chef and the vineyard representative. Before each course is presented, the chef and the vineyard representative provide insight into the dish's preparation and the wine's selection.
The Winemaker's Dinner is well-known among local wine new-comers, enthusiasts and connoisseurs and has been written about in Southern Living. This dinner is a staple for our guests and has been offered every Thursday for the past 10 years. In that time, GEP has only had to cancel the dinner once, when a severe snow storm blanketed the area.
Seating starts at 6:00pm and the dinner begins at 6:30pm. Advanced sign-up is required. Early reservations are suggested as seating is limited. Please contact the Concierge at (540) 289-4978 with any questions.
Each Monday, you can sample the wines for the week's Virginia Winemaker's Dinner at the Craft Fair/Beer & Wine Tasting held at either the Ski Lodge deck or Massanutten Conference Center. If you are looking for other wines by the glass or bottle, stop by Fareways Restaurant and Lounge, where a trained server can suggest a wine flight to coordinate with your meal.
