RESPECT OTHER TRAIL USERS
Show courtesy and respect to all trail users at all times. We're all members of the trail family seeking the therapeutic value that the backcountry offers. We must learn to share. Take time to set a good example. Stop, dismount, and talk with other trail users. Our motivations are no different than those of other trail users regardless of our mode of transportation. Aim for a clean, quiet backcountry experience. Keep the trail as natural as possible. Show that you understand other trail user's fears, needs and desires.
FIRST AID
Wilderness recreation is incredibly fulfilling, but without proper knowledge and preparation it could become a potential disaster. First aid needs to be addressed in the planning stages of all trips to the woods. An adequate first aid kit and knowledge of how to handle medical emergencies is essential on every trip. Each group member should be aware of location, emergency phone numbers and the proper techniques of first aid. Without this information a small accident could become life threatening and put several group members at risk.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR RIDERS
All riders should carry at least eight ounces of water, a tire inflating device, a replacement tube and/or tire patch kit, a small first aid kit and a chain tool. The best thing that each of us can do is to ride well within control and safely. Prevent possibly dangerous situations by being dressed properly and carrying food and shelter. Traveling alone is a potentially dangerous situation and should be avoided at all costs. Always let others know your itinerary and anticipated return time.
