4K on the Fairway: A race/walk to benefit Elkton Area United Services

Saturday, March 2, 2019 | 10 AM | At Mountain Greens Golf Course
This event will be held rain or shine.

Cost

$25 per person. Each participant who registers before 2/28/19 will receive a t-shirt. The FIRST 20 PEOPLE to register will receive 2 Massanutten Resort Combo Passes (value of $60 each). You can exchange these passes for a Slope-Use Ticket, a Golf Greens Ticket, a Waterpark General Admission Ticket, OR a Day Mountain Bike Lift/Traile Use Pass.

Registration

Day of the event registration will be available, however, those participants will not receive a t-shirt.

Event Info

Parking will be available at the Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club. Race sign in will be held from 9 - 10:15 am. The race will start at 10:30 am. Snacks & a raffle will follow the race!

Elkton Area United Services (EAUS) is a comprehensive social service agency serving Eastern Rockingham County since 1972. EAUS strives to develop programs and services where needs exist and tries to meet the needs of an ever changing community. Through its programs EAUS provides assistance with housing, electricity, heat, food, GED classes, school supplies, books, transportation, aid to stranded travelers, senior citizens activities and joyful holiday season. The organization is supported primarily from community donations, thrift store proceeds and a United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County Community Impact Grant.

Arctic Plunge

Sunday, March 3, 2019 | Beginning at 10 AM | At the Woodstone Recreation Center Outdoor Pool
Recruit a friend, family member, co-worker, or acquaintance & take the plunge to raise money for Therapeutic Adventures!
This event will be held rain or shine.

All proceeds will benefit Therapeutic Adventures, a non-profit that provides opportunities for those with disabilities, illnesses, and other health needs to experience the outdoors through camps, adaptive sports clinics, retreats, races, and service projects. For more info, visit www.taonline.org.

Cost

$25 per person. The first 50 participants will receive a Snow Moon Fest t-shirt. (t-shirt size cannot be guaranteed) Participants are encouraged to dress in costumes and to raise additional donations for a chance to win prizes! Prizes will be awarded for most money raised (by individual & by team), biggest team, and best costume. Prizes will include t-shirts, WaterPark passes, ski lift tickets, golf passes, and two 4 night stays at Massanutten Resort!

Registration

Plunge participants may register as individuals or as a team. Teams should have a minimum of 3 participants. No team registrations will be taken on the day of the plunge.

Each plunge will be limited to 25 participants and will take place in 30 minute increments. Participants may use the steam room, sauna, hot tub, and/or indoor pool after their plunge and may change in the locker room areas. Spectators will not be allowed access to the Woodstone Recreation Center without a recreation pass. Please arrive early to allow time to check-in. Parking will be limited, so help us out and carpool with your team!

What to Bring

  • Old shoes or aquatic shoes to wear during the plunge. Don’t forget to bring a pair of dry shoes to wear afterwards!
  • A duffel bag, backpack and/or garbage bag: It’s a good idea to bring a bag for dry clothes as well as a plastic bag for your wet clothes after you’ve plunged.
  • A towel.
  • Dry replacement clothes: After you’re done plunging, it’s nice to have some warm and dry clothes for the journey home. Bring warm clothes that are easy to put on.

Check-In
Please arrive early to allow time to check-in. All participants must check-in prior to plunging to turn in donations, receive their long sleeve shirt and access to the plunge site. Please bring all donations to check-in. Cash, credit cards, and checks accepted. 

Safety Info
Trained Lifeguards will be present during this event. Do NOT dive or flip into the water. This will be strictly enforced by the lifeguards. Please do not run out of the water after your plunge. The pool deck will be wet and slippery. Be careful as you make your way to the indoor facility. Please do not plunge after drinking alcohol. Intoxicated people will not be permitted to plunge. Leave valuables at home or with a spectator. Massanutten is not responsible for items that are lost or stolen.
