RFID FAQs

RFID FAQs

RFID Gates

Massanutten has partnered with Axess to provide direct to lift access for our guests. Season passes and reloadable day lift ticket cards are used to eliminate the need to go to the bike shop. Electronic gates are in place at each lift to allow access to the lift based on lift ticket type and date.

Save your Reload. Reuse Card for next time! Reload additional days online to your existing Reload. Reuse Card and go straight to the lift! View the RFID Reloading Guide here.

How to use your Reload. Reuse Card:

  1. Place your Reload. Reuse Card in your LEFT pocket by itself. Do not place cell phones, credit cards, or foil in the same pocket.
  2. Keep your card in your pocket as you approach the gate. Carry only one card at a time.
  3. The gates will open automatically.

REMINDER: Do not punch a hole in your card. Punching a hole could cause damage to the RFID antenna. There will be a $20 fee to reprint any Reload. Reuse card.

RFID FAQ’s

What is RFID?
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification.

Do I need to show my pass at the lift?
No! You can keep it in a left side pocket and it will scan through your clothes! (Make sure it is the only item in that pocket as other electronic devices on the same side will interfere with reading the pass.)

What is WTP?
WTP is the unique identifier for each individual RFID lift ticket card. This number will be on the back of all lift tickets and will be a 14-character code. (Ex: XXXXXXXX-XXX-XXX)

How do I reload a lift ticket online?
When you are looking at available lift tickets online, select the reload option and select the day you wish to reload for. When you are prompted to put in your name and date of birth, you will be prompted to put in a WTP number as well. Once done you will be able to complete your transaction and be ready to hit the trails for the ticket you selected. Please view the full RFID Reloading Guide here.

Will I need to print my physical ticket first before I reload?
Yes, please first complete your transaction and print your lift ticket either by our PUBs or at the bike shop with a cashier. After that step is completed, then you will be able use the printed WTP to reload your lift ticket.

Is there a limit to how many times I can reload a lift ticket for the season?
No, you will be able to reload the same lift ticket as many times as you would like. Just be sure to check our season pass options, if you anticipate using our trails multiple times throughout the year.
