Lifeguard
Join one of the most rewarding and important positions available and become a lifeguard! Your responsibilities will include supervising swimmers at pools and the WaterPark and enforcing safety rules. Other assignment may be organizing group swim activities, cleaning pools, and teaching lessons to swimmers of all ages.

Water Attendant
Be part of an incredible team at Massanutten Resort and work in one of the best department son the mountain at the Indoor/Outdoor WaterPark. We’re looking for applicants who are ready to have a blast and work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Recreation Desk Attendant (Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club)
Join us in Recreation where the fun never ends. Massanutten Fitness &Rec Club features a 25 meter heated indoor pool, outdoor pool and snack bar, fitness studio, recently renovated weight room, and arcade. We also feature indoor and outdoor basketball, racquetball, tennis, and sand volleyball courts, as well as horseshoe pits, ice skating in the winter, and street curling! We are looking for energetic, team oriented applicants with strong customer service skills and the drive to assist out guests in enjoying their experience.

Real Escapes & Woodstone Recreation Desk Attendant
Position requires excellent communication and customer service skills. Must be a reliable team player with basic computer skills and have previous cash handling experience. Duties include scheduling appointments for guests, proving resort information, checking guest ID’s, light cleaning and towel laundry in the recreation facility. Additional duties may include: Lead/participating in recreational games, snack bar/food cart attendant, virtual reality escape room attendant. CPR/FA certification required. (we will train)

Grounds Maintenance Technician SNL
Beautiful sunny days are upon us! Looking for some extra cash this summer with some excellent perks? Then a grounds technician job at Massanutten is the place for you! This job requires basic landscaping skills and the ability to work in various weather conditions. This is a four-day workweek with every weekend off.

Aquatics Training & Certifications

Massanutten Resort not only provides training in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and Water Safety Instruction but also provides employment opportunities both seasonally and year round. Massanutten Resort employs over 150 aquatic staff as lifeguards or water attendants throughout the year and over 250 seasonally. We offer competitive pay and many other benefits to our employees. All courses are taught by certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors and in accordance with all American Red Cross policies. Courses offered include:

  • Community Swim Lessons
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers R.16 Courses (Full and Recertification)
  • Lifeguard Training R.17 Courses (Full and Review)

Institute of Inspection and Restoration Certifications

The IICRC, or the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, is the non-profit certifying body for the cleaning and restoration industry. We provide the open door to a career in the textile industry while working local. This is a large, always growing industry. We can help you earn certifications in many different textile fields while working in both commercial and residential settings. You can also work your way up, through classes and training, to master designation in several textile fields.

Massanutten has a pathway for you to earn the following professional certifications from the IICRC:

  • Carpet
  • Upholstery
  • Flood Restoration
  • Carpet Repair and Re-installation

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Massanutten covers all costs for training, classes, and the first certification test. If a retest is required the employee is responsible for a $65 fee.

How long does it take?
Varies. Generally, six months.  

When can I begin training?
Training begins on day one.

Master or Journeyman from Commonwealth of Virginia

Join our team and start training today to earn your Master or Journeyman from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Build your career and demonstrate mastery of your trade by earning a license in this high-demand field. Our resort offers you the chance to train and learn in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of service calls and installations.  

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Massanutten covers 100% of costs for this training pathway. Expenses to earn these licenses are generally around $6000.  

How long does it take?
This varies from person to person. Usually 4 to 5 years.

When can I begin training?
With the right combination of prior experience and drive to succeed, you could begin training as early as your first day with our company.

State of Virginia Nail Technician License

Great Eastern Resorts will pay up to 50% of the tuition fees toward the educational requirements of the Nail Technician Licensing up to completion and for as long as the employee is in good standing. This is a great program for those seeking to advance in a trade.

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Usually around $2000. Massanutten will reimburse up to 50% of costs paid by employee.  

How long does it take?
To earn this license you must complete 150 educational hours at an accredited school.  

When can I begin training?
To qualify for this pathway you must be employed by The Spa at Massanutten for at least 6 months.

Virginia CDL Class B License

Join Massanutten’s Refuse and Recycling Team and earn your license. A CDL Class B provides opportunities to gain skills in a growing industry, while providing a valuable service to our community. Great schedule will have you home in the evenings. Spend your day working in a beautiful, rural setting while learning a new skill.

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Massanutten provides training and covers most fees and expenses. Employee is responsible for $50 licensing fee.     

How long does it take?
Varies. Generally, six months to earn a Learner’s Permit and six to twelve months to earn your CDL Class B.

When can I begin training?
Training begins on day one.

Are you looking for an internship opportunity to gain experience, learn about the hospitality industry, and work with an awesome team? Look no further than Massanutten Resort! We have worked closely with James Madison University’s Hart School to develop a program that meets your needs. We have hosted interns from the University of Virginia, Bridgewater College, Virginia Commonwealth University, George Mason University, Old Dominion University, Longwood University, and more. Join our team for the internship of a lifetime!

When are internships available?

Our hiring managers work with applicants to determine dates and schedules that could meet the needs of our company, the applicant’s school, and the applicant themselves.

The majority of our internships have been completed during the summer months when our resort is the busiest, but we have had internships take place at various time throughout the year.

Please note that some hiring managers will offer internships year-round, while others only offer them at specific times or seasons. It is up to the applicant and the hiring manager to determine if there is a good fit before moving forward.

Front Office Operations
Seeking students in the Hospitality Field to welcome our guests onto the resort! Do you want to get paid while building your resume and learning the tools of the trade? Assist our guests with the check-in procedure to start their vacation off on the right foot. Learn about the ins and outs of the resort’s condos and procedures to help each family into their cozy accommodation. Take care of everything from Activity Reservations, to day trip recommendations for our guests. Bring your positive attitudes and smiling faces to help us create Remarkable Experiences!

Family Adventure Park
The Family Adventure Park is a team-oriented culture full of outdoor enthusiasts. We focus on creating a positive workplace culture to ensure you have a great experience with us. Work with our management team and training coordinator to get a full, real-world look at the planning and facilitating of our operations. Come adventure with us!

Aquatics
Aquatics Interns are immersed in a fast paced, high energy, and active work environment and must have a strong desire to learn about aquatic and recreation management fields. This position requires excellent customer service skills, general office skills and a high degree of organization, time management, and flexibility. Must be able to coordinate with various resort recreation departments as needed to gain operational understanding, participate in weekly meetings, and assist with resort initiatives as needed.

Food & Beverage Special Events
Massanutten Resort is looking for an upbeat, people focused, go-getter to be a part of the Resort’s food and beverage team. Responsible for providing excellent customer service while greeting, taking, and fulfilling customer needs for event working while upholding food quality, sanitation, and safety policies. Responsible for learning all aspects of Special Events from the beginning stages to the end stage – managing and working the event.

Food and beverage services on the mountain take pride in their ability to reach both vacationers looking for a great fine dining experience and those just seeking a bar stool with a view.
