Scenic Chairlift Rides

Board the Creekside or Peak Express lift and take in sweeping views of Massanutten and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley. Sit back, relax, and enjoy a different perspective of the mountain - just bring a camera and take in one of the most scenic experiences at Massanutten.
The Experience
Enjoy a scenic chairlift ride up Massanutten's Creekside and Peak Express lifts. The two-lift experience offers views of the surrounding ski slopes, forested ridgelines, and valley below - spectacular in fall, peaceful in summer, and worth every minute either way. Book Fall Foliage Chairlift Rides Early
October is peak season for scenic chairlift rides at Massanutten, when the mountains turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold. Ride Creekside Lift and Peak Express Lift to an elevation of 2,925 feet. From the top of Peak Express, a short hike leads to a scenic overlook with views toward Harrisonburg and West Virginia to the west, and the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park to the east.
October weekends sell out consistently, so advance online purchase is strongly recommended. Limited in-person tickets are also available at the General Store beginning at 9 a.m. on operating days, with in-person sales ending 15 minutes before closing.

Scenic chairlift rides are not available during winter ski operations.
For the best chance at uninterrupted mountain views, consider riding earlier in the day. Summer weather can change quickly, and brief delays may occur if thunderstorms move through.
Wear appropriate, comfortable shoes.
Advance online purchase is recommended, especially during busy fall weekends. In-person tickets are available at the General Store beginning at 9 a.m., subject to availability. In-person sales end 15 minutes before closing.
A round trip takes approximately 60 to 90 minutes, and may be longer on busy days. Scenic overlook access closes 30 minutes before the lift closes each day.
Pets and service animals are not permitted on the chairlift.
