Michael Christopher | 4:45 - 6 pm
Michael Christopher found perseverance and grit during his childhood growing up in rural Pennsylvania, and the lessons he learned along the way would be right at home in the lyrics of today’s most popular country music.
For the last decade, Michael’s focus and passion has been on music: writing, singing, and performing in clubs, amphitheaters, and festivals across the country. While headlining events across the northeast and beyond, Michael has also opened for some major country stars, including Tyler Farr, Sammy Kershaw, Lonestar, Chris Lane, Jamey Johnson, Phil Vassar, William Michael Morgan and Walker Hayes. His guitar-heavy, rock-edged sound intertwines with invocative lyrical virtuosity and positions him with elite company in the country music scene.
DJ Finks | 3 - 4:15 pm
DJ Finks has been filling dance floors for the past twenty years. He has held residencies locally at The Golden Pony, Rubys, The Artful Dodger, The Blue Nile, and has djayed at clubs up and down the east coast. He mixes everything from contemporary dance songs, to house, afrobeats, and the best music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Magenta Shift | 1:15 - 2:15 pm
The Magenta Shift is a four-piece alt-rock band formed from Harrisonburg High School. Formed in the fall of 2018, they performed their first show the following January for a sold-out crowd at Clementine Cafe in Harrisonburg, VA. Their distinct, indie-rattle rock sound comes from the muddling of genres important to the individual players.
Leif McCoy (lead vocals and guitar, songwriting) has a heavy influence from the jangling rock and country of the late 50s and the 60s, specifically from music legends Chet Atkins and BB King. Declan Leach (drums) draws more from the big, crashing side of 60s and 70s rock, with a focus on Led Zeppelin. Stanley Inouye (bass, backup vocals) brings in creative and unique basslines, with equal rock, jazz, and RnB/soul inspirations from groups like Rush and The Free Nationals. Finally, Forrest Matter (keys, songwriting) fills the out group using simple but huge keyboard movements, with a nod towards Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem.
The result -- a unique collision of genres glued together with a common love of the Beatles’ creativity. They expect to release an EP in late Spring 2020.
