I'm Betty Alexander and I am Daddy's Girl. My Pops was an avid "Pit Master" from Bedford Co, VA. His sauce recipes are now a family heirloom which I am honored to share with the world. A Pharmacist by trade, Dad was a true chemist in the kitchen. The first sauce he made was his favorite, a North Carolina Style vinegar-based. After a while friends and family requested that he make a sweeter sauce which he deemed "Sweet Redhead" after me, and he just kept cranking out new flavors from that point on. We achieve this mainly by keeping our crops covered to exclude pests and rotating our crops from one season to the next to try and limit the critters that enjoy eating them before we can harvest them. All this to say, we do not use harsh chemicals to keep our crops growing well and tasting amazing! We grow about 30 different vegetables on 1.5 acres, including lettuce, peas, green beans, tomatoes, cabbage, spinach, kale, broccoli, carrots, eggplant, and peppers.
