Family Adventure Park Attendant
Share your love of adventure and the outdoors with our guests this season! Our Family Adventure Park Attendants are responsible for the safe operation of our snow tubing, rock climbing, and zip line attractions. Successful applicants will be outgoing and ready to help our guests with questions and the proper use of equipment.

Lift Operator (Seasonal)
Enjoy a good outdoor view? Lift operators get the opportunity to work outside during the season. Duties include providing uphill transportation of guests in a safe curious manner, removal of ice/snow from chairs and more. Looking for applicants who are outgoing, responsible and enjoy the winter sports!

Learning Center Instructor (Seasonal)
Share your love of skiing or snowboarding with those new to the sport! Basic skiing/riding skills are needed, but you do not need to be a pro. Looking for applicants with positive attitudes, excellent communication, and the ability to lead individuals and small groups. Duties include working with children or adults teaching snow sports skills beginning at a basic level. No teaching experience needed.   

Food and Beverage Cashier
Join our Food and Beverage team! Must have excellent customer service and prefer applicants with previous cash handling experience. Duties include serving food from counters to patrons, upholding food quality, cleanliness, safety standards and cash handling.

Snowmaker (Seasonal)
Love snow? Looking for hard working folks willing to breve the cold and help turn rain into snow. Duties include operating snowmaking machinery and associated equipment to provide a high-quality snow surface. Schedule varied due to weather, includes weekends and holidays. Apply today!

Ski Office Phone Operator/Cashier (Seasonal)
Excellent customer service and a desire to help others? Ski Area Cashiers/Phone Operators are responsible for shaping our guests first impressions of snow sports operations. Duties include quoting rates, selling tickets on a computerized sales system, and answering guests' questions in person and over the phone. Previous cash handling experience required. Knowledge of resort and/or ski operations is a plus.  

Front Desk Associate
Welcoming our guests onto the resort is the first step to a gateway of remarkable adventures! Assist our guests with the check-in procedure to start their vacation off on the right foot. Learn about the ins and outs of the resort’s condos and procedures to help each family into their cozy accommodation. Bring your positive attitudes and smiling faces to help us create Remarkable Experiences!

Housekeeping
Massanutten Resort is currently searching for Housekeepers who are self-motivated, hardworking, and don’t mind getting a little dusty. If you want to earn piece-work after training, make well over $10/hour, earn additional bonuses and incentives for working weekends and referring friends, then you’re in the right place.

Lifeguard
Join one of the most rewarding and important positions available and become a lifeguard! Your responsibilities will include supervising swimmers at pools and the WaterPark and enforcing safety rules. Other assignments may be organizing group swim activities, cleaning pools, and teaching swimming lessons to swimmers of all ages.

Aquatics Training & Certifications

Massanutten Resort offers a variety of American Red Cross Health and Safety Service Certification Courses. All courses are taught by certified American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors and in accordance with all American Red Cross policies. Courses offered include:

  • Community Swim Lessons
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuers R.16 Courses (Full and Recertification)
  • Lifeguard Training R.17 Courses (Full and Review)
  • WaterPark Skills Module R.17
  • Lifeguard Instructor Courses R.17

Institute of Inspection and Restoration Certifications

The IICRC, or the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, is the non-profit certifying body for the cleaning and restoration industry. We provide the open door to a career in the textile industry while working local. This is a large, always growing industry. We can help you earn certifications in many different textile fields while working in both commercial and residential settings. You can also work your way up, through classes and training, to master designation in several textile fields.

Massanutten has a pathway for you to earn the following professional certifications from the IICRC:

  • Carpet
  • Upholstery
  • Flood Restoration
  • Carpet Repair and Re-installation

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Massanutten covers all costs for training, classes, and the first certification test. If a retest is required the employee is responsible for a $65 fee.

How long does it take?
Varies. Generally, six months.  

When can I begin training?
Training begins on day one.

Master or Journeyman from Commonwealth of Virginia

Join our team and start training today to earn your Master or Journeyman from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Build your career and demonstrate mastery of your trade by earning a license in this high-demand field. Our resort offers you the chance to train and learn in a fast-paced environment with a wide variety of service calls and installations.  

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Massanutten covers 100% of costs for this training pathway. Expenses to earn these licenses are generally around $6000.  

How long does it take?
This varies from person to person. Usually 4 to 5 years.

When can I begin training?
With the right combination of prior experience and drive to succeed, you could begin training as early as your first day with our company.

State of Virginia Nail Technician License

Great Eastern Resorts will pay up to 50% of the tuition fees toward the educational requirements of the Nail Technician Licensing up to completion and for as long as the employee is in good standing. This is a great program for those seeking to advance in a trade.

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Usually around $2000. Massanutten will reimburse up to 50% of costs paid by employee.  

How long does it take?
To earn this license you must complete 150 educational hours at an accredited school.  

When can I begin training?
To qualify for this pathway you must be employed by The Spa at Massanutten for at least 6 months.

Virginia CDL Class B License

Join Massanutten’s Refuse and Recycling Team and earn your license. A CDL Class B provides opportunities to gain skills in a growing industry, while providing a valuable service to our community. Great schedule will have you home in the evenings. Spend your day working in a beautiful, rural setting while learning a new skill.

Available position(s) which qualify for this pathway:

What is the cost?
Expenses vary. Massanutten provides training and covers most fees and expenses. Employee is responsible for $50 licensing fee.     

How long does it take?
Varies. Generally, six months to earn a Learner’s Permit and six to twelve months to earn your CDL Class B.

When can I begin training?
Training begins on day one.

Massanutten Resort 2021 Summer Internship Program

Every summer Massanutten hosts interns in positions ranging from recreation to hospitality operations to food and beverage. Our program was built in close collaboration with James Madison University to be more than just your standard internship experience. If you want an internship that is going give you valuable insight into the hospitality industry and look great on your resume, look no further.

Massanutten Resort not only provides training in Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid and Water Safety Instruction but also provides employment opportunities both seasonally and year round. Massanutten Resort employs over 150 aquatic staff as lifeguards or water attendants throughout the year and over 250 seasonally. We offer competitive pay and many other benefits to our employees.
