Woodstone Nature Trail

This trail features scenic views and lots of wildflowers (when in season).

• Difficulty | Easy - 1.5 mile out-and-back.
• This trail is mostly flat with some small hills and uneven surfaces. The trail surface is mostly grass with some dirt and gravel.
• Helpful tip: There is very little tree cover on this trail. We suggest bringing sunscreen and water.

Kaylor’s Knob Trail

• Difficulty | Moderate (Blue Blazes) - 1.5 miles (each way)
• The northern counterpart to the Ridge Trail is rough and rocky. Kaylor’s Knob marks the turnaround point for this breathtaking out-and-back trail.
• Please Note: On November 1, 2025 - January 3, 2026, all trails on the Western Slope (including Kaylor's Knob & Ridge Trail) will be closed from sunrise to sunset, Monday through Saturday, due to hunting season. Trails will be open for biking and hiking on Sundays only, beginning November 1, 2025.
• Trailhead Access: Located across the street from the Overlook parking area.

Ridge Trail

If you’re looking to access one of the best views Massanutten has to offer via your own two feet, look no further than the Massanutten Ridge Trail. This 4.5-mile, moderately trafficked out-and-back, offers stellar views of the nearby ski area and the mountains surrounding Massanutten. 

• Difficulty | Moderate (Blue Blazes) - 2.25 miles (each way)
• Beginning at the wooden steps above the Overlook, this scenic trail winds along Massanutten’s rough and rocky ridge and joins the access road near the ski slopes. The trail’s turnaround point features a magnificent panorama overlooking our ski slopes.
• Please Note: On November 1, 2025 - January 3, 2026, all trails on the Western Slope (including Kaylor's Knob & Ridge Trail) will be closed from sunrise to sunset, Monday through Saturday, due to hunting season. Trails will be open for biking and hiking on Sundays only, beginning November 1, 2025.
• Trailhead Access: Start at the parking lot at the end of Del Webb Drive.

For an added bonus, consider timing your hike with a sunrise or a sunset and be sure to come prepared with sturdy hiking boots and plenty of water!

Rockingham Springs Arboretum

• Difficulty | Easy
• A leisurely walk with quiet places to sit and relax. Stroll along and enjoy a variety of beautiful trees and plant life.
• Open all year round!
• Trailhead Access: Hopkins Park | Massanutten Dr, Mc Gaheysville, VA 22840

Golf Cart Paths

• The Golf Cart Paths are CLOSED for recreational use during golf operational hours. 
• Call for hours at both golf courses. Resort ext 65041 or ext 5041.
