Previously known as Le Club Recreation, Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club has not only experienced a name change but major updates as well! Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club is now a bright and modern fitness and recreation center boasting eclectic offerings for all ages, making them the “go-to place” for fitness, families & fun.

We have been hard at work redesigning our fitness center into a bright and modern place where you will want to exercise. The fitness center is now located on the top floor of Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club, providing an open and airy workout environment.  

In addition to a new location, we have new and updated exercise equipment including a Smith and cross cable machines, a stretching area, treadmills, ellipticals, and more. Also offered are several single and multi-station strength machines, as well as dumbbells.

The old fitness room has been transformed into a fitness class studio, where you can participate in Les Mills™ classes such as Body Pump™ and Body Combat™ as well as Zumba®, aerobics and yoga classes. View the class schedule here.

Whether you are looking to keep up your fitness routine or take a relaxing dip, the aquatic area at Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club has you covered. The 25-meter heated indoor pool boasts a diving board, and offers lap swimming from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. For guests looking to get moving, a water aerobics class is sure to get your heart pumping. Unwind after a long day or tiring workout in either our indoor or outdoor hot tub. The little ones are not left out either, at Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club there is a children’s pool just for them!

Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club also features a game room, indoor basketball court, racquetball courts, and much more. Outside we offer sand volleyball, basketball, lit tennis and pickleball courts (seasonal), horseshoe pits and even ice skating in the winter!

Woodstone Recreation Center has both a heated indoor shallow-water activity pool and a heated outdoor 25-meter free-form pool with a children's shallow section, including a raindrop feature. 

The center also contains a fitness room with stair steppers, treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, nautilus stations, dumbbells, and more. Inside the recreation center you will also find a game room, hot tub, co-ed steam and sauna rooms, locker rooms, and the Escape Rooms

Outside, you will find a lit tennis court, picnic area, basketball court, and children's playground

Woodstone Rec Center also offers other exciting instructional programs such as water aerobics, scuba, and seasonal tennis.

COVID-19 Policies

Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club and Woodstone Recreation Center are open with a renewed focus on providing a safe, clean, & enjoyable environment for our owners, members, guests, and employees.

Additional Precautions Include:

  • Enhanced Employee Training - All Resort employees will complete COVID-19 prevention and preparedness training prior to returning to work.
  • Face Masks - Face masks are required per Virginia Governor’s Executive Order 63, when you are inside a public establishment, masks are required for people aged 10 and over. You may remove your mask while exercising, we just ask that you wear it while moving around within the facility.
  • Signage & Traffic Flow - To keep things clear and easy, when you arrive you will see signage and markings designating the traffic flow to facilitate physical distancing.
  • Sanitation - We have increased the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting public spaces, with a focus on high-traffic areas. We also offer hand sanitizer throughout the facility for guest use. We also ask that all owners, members, & guests wipe down weight equipment before and after each use with the sanitizing wipes provided.
  • Physical Distancing - Building capacity, operating hours, and amenities may be limited with regard to safety. We ask that you attempt to maintain at least 6’ of distance between you and other guests outside of your traveling group; 10’ while in the weight room or fitness classes. Your cooperation is appreciated. 
  • Water Fountains - Water fountains have been turned off. We recommend bringing your own refillable water bottle as the filling stations in the weight room is still functioning.
  • Sports Equipment - All sports equipment (basketballs, racquetball equipment, etc) must be checked out at the front desk and will sanitized before and after each use.

Every patron entering the recreation facilities are required to do a self-health assessment. Are you are currently experiencing any of these:

  • Fever (100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher) or a sense of having a fever, 
  • A new cough that cannot be attributed to another health condition, 
  • New shortness of breath that cannot be attributed to another health condition,
  • New chills that cannot be attributed to another health condition, 
  • A new sore throat that cannot be attributed to another health condition, or 
  • New muscle aches that cannot be attributed to another health condition or specific activity (such as physical exercise). 

If you answer no to all of the above questions, you will be granted access to the facility.  If you answer yes to any of the above questions, you will not be granted access to the facility.

Here’s How You Can Help:

  • When visiting amenities, always practice physical distancing and stay at least 6’ away from the guests around you.
  • Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. Ideally with the inside of your elbow.
  • Wear a face mask when in public buildings. (Per VA Executive Order 63)
  • Wash your hands (or use hand sanitizer) often and especially before opening doors or touching retail and display/ public items.
  • Let us know if you become sick while you are/were here.
  • Follow all posted instructions while visiting the Resort. New state orders might come in effect during your stay.
  • Share any COVID related concerns with a staff member or by emailing recovery@massresort.com.

COVID-19 Warning: An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other disease exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the CDC, older adults and people who have underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. By visiting the Resort, you and your party voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to disease and COVID-19.

It's time to shoot some hoops!
Massanutten Resort presents Sampson Basketball Academy. Beginning June 29, boys and girls can participate in a 4-day camp to learn from the best, five-time NBA All-Star, Ralph Sampson.

Schedule

  • Weekly 4-day camps offered June 29 – Aug 17, 2020

Jenna Rose Mapstone

Jenna Rose loves anything fitness but more than that a passion for good quality movement and form, breath work and quality of life. She welcomes all levels of fitness from the first steps of a journey to a seasoned athlete. She will meet you where you are in order to learn and grow together and most of all have fun!

Certifications include: NASM Certified Personal Trainer | AFFA Group Fitness Instructor | RockSteady Boxing Coach | Les Mills Body Combat™ | Les Mills Body Pump™ | American Red Cross CPR and First Aid. Currently working on: Precision Nutrition Level 1 Coach

Morina Lamb

Morina Lamb is a 20-year Army veteran and special education teacher who got into fitness to help fellow teachers stay in shape. She is Licensed/certified in over 14 different fitness formats. Her fitness philosophy "I believe you can start your fitness journey at any age and any level, you just have to start!" Come out and join Morina in one of her classes!

Wendee Constable

Wendee Constable

Wendee became an instructor in the spring of 2013, and since, has enjoyed teaching Zumba and Kids Zumba throughout the community.  Wendee has a great love for children and animals, especially horses and dogs. She is a kindergarten teacher for Rockingham Public Schools, and does volunteer work with her English Mastiff as a certified therapy dog team. Wendee grew up locally, and although resides off the mountain on a small farm, she and her husband are also Massanutten Property Owners. Her son attends JMU and is an avid skier. Wendee and her family regularly enjoy all the fantastic amenities Massanutten Resort offers, and are especially fond of the Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club. Karen Zawatsky

I’ve had the pleasure of being the Water Aerobics Instructor here at Massanutten Resort for the past twelve years, and I love my job! I am a gold level certified water aerobics instructor with specialized certification in Arthritis and movement disorders, Tai Chi, and shallow water noodle programming. I enjoy helping guests achieve their fitness goals in a fun and safe environment.

  • Access to all Recreation Centers is granted by showing your Resort ID, which you will receive at check-in. 
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older while using the facility. 
  • Towels are provided for the indoor pools.
  • Only bottled water is allowed on the pool decks.
