Pools & Parks

Beyond the ski slopes and Waterpark, Massanutten Resort opens up into outdoor pools, parks, walking trails, tennis and pickleball courts, playgrounds and fishing ponds across 6,000 acres. Start the morning with a walk beneath the trees, cool off by the pool in the afternoon or find a shady spot while the kids burn off some energy. Whether you’re ready to get moving or simply spend a little more time outside, there are outdoor activities at Massanutten for every pace and season.

Set in the Woodstone Meadows complex, James E. Lambert Park is the resort’s main outdoor recreation hub, and its amenities are included free with your stay. Guests can enjoy a half-mile walking and jogging trail, two outdoor workout stations, tennis courts, and outdoor pickleball courts, with pickleball equipment available at Woodstone Recreation (complimentary with the resort fee). The park also offers sand volleyball, shuffleboard, cornhole, and horseshoe pits, along with a playground, a dog park, and a covered pavilion.

Grab a paddle and head to James E. Lambert Park for a few games in the fresh air. Outdoor courts make it easy to work in a friendly match or a little family competition, and open play is complimentary with the resort fee. Equipment rental is available at Woodstone Recreation, and guests looking to sharpen their skills can join a clinic led by a PPR-certified instructor.

We offer pavilion rentals for your special occasion; whether it is a birthday party, family reunion, club meeting, or other special occasion. Rentals are available for the Lions Centennial Community Park Pavilion (LCC) and the James E. Lambert Park (JEL) at Woodstone. Rentals are available for both half-day and full day.
Cool off, stretch out and make a little room for downtime at the Massanutten Resort pools. Pool options are located across both the mountain and valley areas of the resort, giving guests several places to swim, relax or spend an easy afternoon by the water. Each recreation center manages its own pool access and hours.

Heated indoor pools are available at Massanutten Fitness & Recreation Club and Woodstone Recreation Center.
Slow things down with a morning or afternoon by the water at Hopkins and Painters Pond, two stocked fishing ponds available to resort guests year-round. Cast from the shoreline, take in the quiet mountain setting and see what’s biting. Both ponds are stocked several times a year with rainbow and brook trout. Daily limit is four trout per person. All other species are catch and release.
