Enjoy some good old-fashioned ice-skating fun at our outdoor rink located outside of Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club.

Future Olympians and novices alike will enjoy taking a spin around The Rink at Massanutten. Our 125-ton chiller and over 34,000 feet of tubing allows the Massanutten Fitness & Rec Club tennis court to be transformed into a frozen winter wonderland all winter long.

Group Rates
  • $10 per person for an hour long session, skate rentals are included.  
  • Minimum of 15 skaters required to get the group rate and must be reserved at least one week in advance.  
  • Please click here to request a group rental. Someone will be in contact with you to confirm your request within 24 – 48 hours.
  • One payment for group reservations must be made in full 24 hours prior to reservation.

College Day
Every Thursday get 50% off a rink session ticket. Must show valid college ID. Not valid 11.25.21, 12.23.21, & 12.30.21.

Good Grade Special
Did you make the honor roll? Bring us your good grade report card issued between October 2021 - March 2022 to receive a free skate rental with the purchase of a rink session ticket.

Lessons

Advance sign-up required online. | Rentals included with all lessons. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to check-in and be properly fitted with ice skates & helmets. Late arrivals may be asked to reschedule to a future lesson due to safety purposes.

Parent & Tot Learn to Skate
Ages 4 - 7 with a parent | Monday @ 1:00 - 1:45 pm | $20 per lesson
Help your child get a safe start on the ice using tips and tricks from our ice skating professional all while playing fun games on the ice. Parent must be capable of skating the width of the rink with safe stability. 

Private Ice Skating Lessons
Ages 6 & up | Monday @ 10:00 am & 10:30 am
$35 Single/$60 Double
No matter if your interest is hockey, figure skating, or occasional recreational skating, our ice skating professional can get you moving and improving. Registration required the day before, there will be no same-day reservations available.

Children’s Ice Skate Clinic
Ages 6 - 14 | Monday @ 11:00 - 11:45  am & 12:00 - 12:45 pm | $20 per lesson
A fun-filled introduction to basic skating skills. Forward & backward skating, swizzles, snowplow stops, long glides, dips, and curves with lots of laughs & thrills along the way.

Things to Know

  • Due to COVID-19, masks or face coverings are required for unvaccinated guests.
  • We have expanded our skate change and viewing area around the rink to allow for physical distancing. Viewing area will be restricted to one non-skating guest per traveling group.
  • To speed up the check-in process or if children will be skating without a parent, please print, review and sign the Release Form. (Release Form in Spanish)
  • Remember to bring tall, thick socks to wear when skating. Your feet and ankles will thank you.
  • Advance purchase is advised during holiday periods. Tickets are non-refundable.
  • All Gold Cards or other discounts must be presented at time of purchase. Each individual family member (Gold Card, Military) must present a valid ID to receive discount. Please visit the ID Center prior to purchasing your tickets if your Gold Card is expired.
  • Do you need to cancel or make adjustments to your online order? Please fill out this form and we will follow up with you.

Ashleigh Welch

Ashleigh Welch

Ashleigh’s passion for ice skating began at the age of six when she had her first lesson. Her 16 years of training began at the Charlottesville Ice Park. She competed in the South Atlantic Region for 11 years, becoming a USFSA double gold medalist in the Senior Freestyle and Moves-in-the Field categories. 

Ashleigh welcomes skates of all ages and abilities to her classes. She also welcomes hearing-impaired skaters, as she is fluent in American Sign Language.
