Virtual Reality FAQ

Virtual Reality FAQ

What is Virtual Reality?
Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment that the “player” is immersed in.

How many people can play in the virtual reality station at a time?
Real Escapes has two VR Stations and two VR Racing Simulators. The maximum participants per session is four.  For a VR session, half of the allotted time will be spent in the racing simulators and the other half of the time will be spent on the Virtuix Omni. This allows everyone in the session a chance to try out both setups!

Is this safe? Will I get nauseous or light-headed?
Virtual reality is perfectly safe, and many advances have been made in the technology since its introduction to ensure a very low risk of nausea and disorientation.

I have glasses. Can I experience VR?
You certainly can! We recommend wearing contacts if possible, but the headset does fit over most glasses. Sometimes both our near-sighted and far-sighted friends need to use their corrective lenses, so bring them to be safe.

Are there any physical limitations that will hinder my experience?
Full body motion is required for most games. This includes walking around the space, ducking or dodging, and moving your arms and head. Our racing simulators are not as motion oriented.

Are there any age restrictions?
Any age can play, but we do require a parent on site with all minors under 16 and a signed waiver on file for all players. Typically, kids who are 8+ have a great experience. We have had plenty of kids younger than that, but it's on a case-by-case basis to see if everything will fit and be comfortable for them.

Are there any size requirements to experience the VR?
Yes, due to the nature of the equipment we do have some height and waist restrictions for the Virtuix Omni stations. Guests must be at least 50 inches tall, and have a waist no bigger than 46 - 48 inches.

What is your cancellation policy?
As long as you cancel 24 hours in advance there will be no charge. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, you will be charged for your time slot.

Can I bring my friends/family/significant other?
Yes! VR is a spectator sport, and you can always watch others play on our TVs hooked to every headset. We also have multiplayer options: if you sign up for more than one station, you can play games together from inside VR.

Do you take walk-ins?
Yes - however, we definitely recommend pre-booking your slots! If you walk in, we cannot guarantee availability.
